2.What this notice covers
This notice explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, send an enquiry, request a quotation, create an account, open a trade account, visit our showroom or agree to receive marketing. It applies to customers, prospective customers, trade partners and website visitors. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
3.The information we collect

We do not ask for, and please do not send us, any special-category information (such as health details) — it is never needed for a glazing quotation.
4.How and why we use your information
- To answer enquiries and prepare quotations — our legitimate interest in responding to you, and steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
- To arrange surveys and installations — with your agreement we share your contact details and project information with the approved SIVAL partner who will carry out the work.
- To run your account — performance of our contract with you (showing your quotes and enquiries, secure sign-in).
- To send marketing emails — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
- To measure and improve the website — analytics and advertising cookies run only with your consent.
- To meet legal obligations — accounting records, guarantee registrations and responding to regulators.
6.How long we keep information
- Enquiries and quotations: up to 2 years after our last contact, so we can pick up where we left off if you come back to your project.
- Orders and guarantees: for the life of the guarantee plus the limitation period (finish guarantees run up to 25 years).
- Accounting records: 6 years plus the current financial year (HMRC requirement).
- Marketing consents: until you withdraw consent; suppression records are kept so we don't email you again.
- Accounts: deleted on request, subject to the retention above for any orders and guarantees.
7.Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to your information, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests or withdraw consent at any time. To use any right, email info@sival.co.uk or write to us — we respond within one month. Signed-in customers can also raise a request from their account's privacy page.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113 — though we'd welcome the chance to put things right first.

We review this notice regularly and post any changes on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site or, where appropriate, emailed to account holders.
